An intensive, technical day setting out the basic skills of sub-editing: how to make copy readable, accurate, consistent – and full of flair.  The course shows how to ensure that text is concise and clear, with thoughts focused, sentences sharpened, ambiguities and redundancies removed, grammar and syntax sorted, and the structure and story-line sustained.  It deals with issues of house style and can cover both news and feature writing. It also offers a bridge into the more creative editorial processes involved in rewriting.
